+1 for don't tint.

Tinted light covers are not permitted legally in NSW if they cover turn indicator lights or if they cause the headlights to emit a colour other than white. You run the risk of having your vehicle defected.

But if you want to give it a go, see if you can get some tinting film, so it's reversible.

And, if you're in NSW, displaying P plates from inside the window isn't legal. The P plates have to be outside the car.

yer i am in NSW and i already got done for having my P plates inside my window... so now im just hanging them outside until june when my blacks finally can be applied for.

... scary stuff with the legalities...

has anyone here done it and had any troubles??

I've got Smoked out tail lights
They look really good, but my cars black so it melds well.
not sure if it would look that great on the silver, as the red ones suit it.

I had thought about head lights, but its def not legal, as it interferes with the beam, and output, so it would only be good if you had a second set and used it for a car show etc.

N3M3SIS, why dont you black out the headlight housing then to complete the murdered black look

snYpz,

I've looked into it, its a bit of a hassle, as you have to pull it apart, black it out, then make sure they are vaccum sealed so no moisture gets into them.

I saw some Euro R Headlights once, that came blacked out, but havent been able to locate them since..oh well.

The chrome at the back of the housing isn't tooo noticable, I've gone for a Euro-R Look
got Red & Black theme

I had tinted tail lights, it looked great on my pearl white euro. only thing was tht after about a year the weather destroyed them slowly, but easily removable.
posibly tint inside the housing. but yes illegal still.

The tint was fairly easy to remove, just peeled off. but i dont kno how hard it would be to get inside the back lights, i havnt really looked tho. but personally i like the silver/red combo

I think blacked out tailights really suit a white/silver euro, maybe even black if you want to go for that evil look :P

i have a white euro (will post pics tomoro night) and i have smoke tint on the rear of my car however i cut out the light circles (reverse and tailights, not indicators) and it looks really good. all my mates commented thinking it looks really good night especially i love it. :D

recommend trying it its only $20 on ebay for the rear tint film. find something similar size like a paint can or something and stencil it and cut it with a stanley knife.

Hey guys, you can buy the pre-cut tints on eBay from a Sydney seller for 50 bucks.. He sells the tail light kit, and headlight kit.. Atleast it's not permanent and can be removed.. It's basically pre-cut window tint..

i got the pre cut tints for $20 on ebay-US site. (search - acura tsx smoke lights)

here are the pics of my car with them, shes real dirty just took it after work today.

it really makes it look tuff i think with the skunk2 exhaust hanging as well.

the indicator is still very visible my dad followed me the other day when it was sunny and he said he could see it fine.

I cut the light outlines out using a stanley i obviously did not cut them on the light itself i took them off and did on some cardboard its a bit tricky, but it gets easier as u cut them out i used a stanley knife and a water bottle which was roughly the same diameter as the lights,

the outside break lights are a slight oval shape so u may have to put it on and off a few times till your happy.

let me know what you think.

Dont tint headlights... makes car look cheap!

Take the time to do it properly, black out the internal chrome and make the indicators clear :D

EUR003act is right. plus u dont have to worry about getting defect and drive hassle free.

tinting ur taillights or headlights degrades the car. the car is a luxury, not a race car/bat mobile. (Y)

not sure if the attachment worked, but its a pic (albiet not a great one) of how dark my tinted taillights are. had them for awhile now, and no bubbling on the paint or anything, and no problems with visabilty day or night.

Another pic, of when the car is more clean attached.

Nope, didnt get off the mentioned supplier, I had it painted by a shop near my work, so its permanent, but had it for awhile now, with no fading.

I havent had any trouble from them yet, and heaps of them have seen the car, and i've had them drive behind me a few times, and they didn't do anything, the signals and brake lights come through strong.

I have a mate who went way darker than me, and he got defected, Unlucky

I saw the step-by-step for the headlights, I would love to do it, but it looks pretty hard, and I cant take the risk of getting moisture in there, as I just had the headlights replaced under warrenty for that.
