Ok, this might seem kinda stupid, but I had a drive of a friends eg the other day. It has a B18 conversion with an integra LS gearbox that has an LSD, coilovers and no power steering. I must say I actually found the combo rather nice, with the lack of power steering a bit of a pain at parking speeds, but really really good once you got going...
So question is, has anyone had this experience, and would it be worth doing on a DC2?

I've had my power steering removed nigh on 12 months now and I'm completely fine with it.

Steering feels much more connected and precise once you get going, and unless you're a weak little girl you'll get used to it after a few days even.

why would the speed of the car have anything to do with taking off the power steering?

Without PS as stated about the feedback you feel is uncorrupted as it is straight off the rack

Ps removal , coupled with light weight decent power and a LSD of sorts gives fantastic feedback. I have run a breather loop system on my eg for years no leaks feels fantastic. Not for people with weak wrists or shit atbreverse parking tho !

When you take power steering off, trying to steer at anything up to about....10km/h is a far stretch from 'easy'.

Once you get going past 10km/h the steering becomes much easier, its the <10km/h that some people have trouble with.

Personally, i wouldn't bother. The only reason why I took it off mine was that the belt kept coming off at the track no matter what we did. It was more for reliability on the track - can't have it coming off during competitive runs...

doesnt removing the p/s from a p/s rack fk it up?

Nah, I did mine with the ends linked to a reservour which still contain p/s fluid providing lubrication. Some people simply loop their ends off but there should still be residual fluid to continue lubricating the system.

Awsome, thanks heaps for the responses guys! Yeah, it was mainly for the whole feedback thing cause this eg just felt so damned connected with the road and it was awsome! Now to track down an ITR gearbox.... which I probably can't yet afford DAMN!!!!!!!
