Hey people, just wondering how to make decent amounts of power from a b20 vtec. I have complete built bottom end (11.5 cp) wit a unported b16a head. Its got double valve springs and titanium retainers etc. Id like to noe the best cams to put in, followed by best throttle body size(currently hav a type r TB and IM, and i am willin to port match the manifold to watevr TB i buy), id like to noe wat size catback i need( i already have tri y small tube headers), also wat size injectors i need as injectors maxed out on first tune.Thanx

I recommend Skunk2 for TB, IM and headers. Good value for money.

2.5" for cat-back

get skunk2 s2 camshafts. Maybe 68mm throttle body and 70mm (2.75inch) catback exhaust

depends on you budget dude and what you want the car for. skunk 2 make a good IM and TB. Edelbrock also make good parts aswell.

In regards to cams, it really depends what you want out of the engine. track, drag, street use, etc... depending on how extreme you want to go, find out the amount of lift they can take, this may give you a better idea on which cam you want to select. Also research into the benefits or cam duration vs cam lift, as this may also give you a better idea of where you want to go with the car.

porting the head is also a good idea, but once again depends how far you want to go. Theres no point porting the head to flow 350cfm if your only going to be getting another cam with only another 30 thou lift or 2deg more duration over stock.

Im not an expert but i hope this information helped a bit

Maybe you should ask your engine builder and tuner instead of these e-mechanics

Experience can be better than mechanics.

Mechanics tend to generalise everything if they dont know what kind of products they're working with.

The wise learn from other peoples mistakes. The fool learns from his own.

IPS is what happened... dont ever use them. I've been waiting a year now. Unfortunately u need the cam and their specs to finish the bottom end. piston clearances etc... i forgot to mention IPS dont give you their cam specs until you receive the product.

oh thats alrite, i guess the ek will be slightly lighter aye. Sweet loooking forward to seeing it. High 10's would be sick, probly go for the fastest all motor honda in AUS ?. Its okay, need more power though , so upgrading gearbox, and the internals soon.
