b16a2 differences?

Ok so i called a wrecker today after a few parts... n i talk to the guy n he says that all b16a2s are slightly different..
he said an eg6 and eg9 are different
and a ek4, em1 and eg2 are even more different and parts are interchangable...

i was under the impression that most b series stuff was interchangable..
especially b16 series stuff.. PARTICULARLY b16a2 series parts!!

now is this guy having me on... misinformed? or is he actually correct?
