Hi guys,
Just installed an aftermarket boss kit and wheel to my EG4. I am having some issues with the horn wiring. I can connect it fine, only problem is, im running an long wire from the positive (harness on steering column) into the boss kit, and because the boss kit turns along with the wheel, requires extra wire slack to go from lock to lock.
Now the stock mechanism that sits just underneath the wheel has a unit that slides on itself and doesn't require any wires or slack. It provides a permanent connection from the harness to the positive of the horn that allows 360° rotation.
I have noticed that my boss kit has a large metallic surface on the back connect to a red wire to be used as positive to the horn. I assume that I can open up the stock turning unit, and install the boss kit over it so as to create the same effect as the 360° turning unit.
Does anyone have any idea, or had a similar experience? It might be hard to understand in text, so will post some pics up soon. How do those of you with aftermarket boss kits get your positive wire into and behind the horn without long messy wires?
