Hey guys,

Just got some LED's for my Civic and they keep blowing out on the driver's side but not the passenger's side or on the sides of my rear number plate.

Anybody have any ideas why?

Short in the wire some where probably.

You go over humps n bumps. And they short out. =/

Blind guess.

voltage fluctuations in cars kills LEDs pretty fast too.

UPDATE:

So first it was just the driver's side LED and it went dim, but now the one I replaced it with has gone completely dead and the passenger's side one is dim.

Seems like some sort of voltage problem or something because they keep blowing.

Anybody have any idea how to fix this?

Bump.

Help anybody? I need to know how to stop my LED's blowing out. I've had three die on me in as many days :(

Check wiring around that area. sounds like bitch but sometimes its in more obvious spots than you think.

But on both sides? Just seems strange. Still, I'll take a look. Thanks mate.

You need a good LED that has regulates the voltage before going into the LED. A simple resistor (you can see it inside the LED parker) is not enough. The voltage in a car can fluctuate from 12V to 14V.

Yeah, I gave up on LED parkers and went for Philips white parkers as well.

I don't mind if they're LED's or not, I just want something bright because my standard bulbs are dim as shit and when I come home from work late I drive into my driveway without my headlights on so I don't wake up my mum (she's like friggin' OCD about lights being left on overnight lol).

So LED's seemed a good choice, but really I just want something bright/white/blue to replace stock ones.

Happens to me to previously about 4 times ended up it was because of the Bulbs like they say you pay for what you get invest in a decent priced pair and they should be fine what i found better than LEDS were SMDs have a look at them good stuff.

I got some from one of the traders - Kaixen, their pretty pricey but they seem much better quality..haven't blown in the last 1 year at all in my accord euro.

I just recently purchased some from Kaixen also, they are nice and bright. Will be interesting to see how they hold up because the last two sets I purchased from another trader on here didnt last very long at all.
