U want:

* 2" hi flow cat ($140 ebay)
* 2" resonator ($80,from the same shop U get the muffler installed)
* Muffler is lots of choices,he would have quoted U for a sh!t straight though muffler, they suck, noisy and crap.Best to sus a few out first before U buy.Magnaflow oval muffler is great,x-force twin loop? (Ozhonda $150)
* Piping comes in press bent or mandrel bent,I was quoted for my EK sedan:

$170 press bent,$330 mandrel bent.

The difference between the 2 is night and day.

So 330+140+80+150 = 700.

Take ya time,do it properly.

serious 700 dollars for a custom system.

i would just pay another 100 dollars and buy a takumi reinhard system. japanese made system.

however that wouldnt have the highflow cat included, which i guess is a big factor. but if you cannot afford i would just decat it lol

to op. 500 dollars seems alright for 2inch why dont you get 2.25? or even better just buy a second hand catback system from ozhonda somewere.

ive seen some alright ones for around that price

What engine is this for?

Where do U find a 'takumi reinhard system' and how much would U end up paying, new?,will it fit or will it need to be fabbed up a bit? etc

For $700,mandrel bent piping + other good quality parts will make for a good exhaust system.

oh i was talking like a generic price.

your looking at any honda takumi reinhard for 800 dollars from hi power racing.

straight fit aswell.

yeah what your saying is right 700 would make decent system.

Ah yes,I know the ones!

Cant say I'm a fan of the big exhaust though,I mean it looked cool the first couple of times I saw it...

Looks like a good deal though.

yeah 700 seems quite a bit? for an extra 100-200 i can buy a decent branded exhaust? for a 2.25 will cost about the same.. the guy said..its simply up to me.

Yes, a decent brand exhaust, and if it's brand new you'll have to ship it in so it might cost a little more - not to mention you'll have to get it installed by somebody (assuming that if you're asking about exhaust prices then you probably don't know how to install it).

So it could cost you up to $300-500 more if you want a 'branded' exhaust, new, shipped and installed.

And in the most sincere tone I can do with a keyboard:
If you're doing a D-series exhaust just go press-bent, not worth going mandrel on a D since the gains are crud either way and it's mostly for looks/sound.
In the east side you can get a mild-steel press-bent with cat, resonator and muffler, installed for $360.

Performance Exhaust in Ringwood.

New Street, just off Molan near Eastland.

Google them - although I think I made a mistake and you have to supply the cat - another $100 +/- but this group has been recommended to me by some friends and my family mechanic (he's been doing mech for 50 years now so I trust him). Good knowledge base and they mostly work with Jap cars anyway. They'll fix you up :)

i got my catback done in the south-east melbourne, with both my own midmuffler/rearmuffler supplied for $150. 2.25" press bent mild steel for my d series. usually if you fish your own things minus the piping, you can get a better deal or like others have said, buy a 2nd hand one off here.

Just remember he will be spending the same amout in total if you include the cost of fuel driving there. I personally would pay a little extra and get it done where its going to be convenient for you.

$500 is not half bad just make sure you get in that:

* you can gain access to the sump for when you need to change leaky gaskets
* if you want a rear sway bar and don't have it on already, wait until it's on, otherwise they will route the system to not allow for one and it will clash meaning you'll nee to fabricate up another 3ft of pipe for the rear and another $60 later

^^ True bout' the rear sway!

I don't know about you, but 3 hours driving wouldn't cost $2-300 for me.
