Hey all,

i have changed my battery over approx 8 months ago, as it was flat and i needed a new one, like most of you on i enjoy music and do run a sub, i do play my music loud however getting back to the point, i was driving into work today and i noticed that the windows were really slow to wind up (electric) this was the sign from last time that the battery was going dead.

Im wanting to know why the previous battery in my car could and did run for a longer pperiod of time, with the sounds system installed, but this one seems to of died quickly, maybe its what they do but yeh its just never happend before and im just curious.

Maybe it's your alternator failing. If your engine is running, the electrical supply should be adequate.

is your new battery of a lower capacity? If this is happening with the car running then its an alternator issue most likely, as the battery supplies power to start the car and when the engine is off mainly

this might sound dumb but where do i look to find the details
a) where on the battery will i find where it mentions capacity?
b) whats the right capacity typically for a 95 accord?

if it is a alternator should i expect it to be pricey to get fixed? if so whats an acceptable figure?

thanks

i believe you can get reconditioned alternators and they can be repaired too. don't quote me, but think i read it somewhere.

as for prices...no idea.

go ask a car electrician? mechanic?

good luck with it and get back to us on how everything went. :)

yep you are correct, go see an electrician and either get a new one or get your current one (no pun intended) rewound

The electrical windows on Accords are known to be weak, and I'm not too sure if it has to do with the battery... perhaps some silicon spray would help.

The last battery I had lasted over 3 years, Bosh <--- spello Gold. If it wasn't the accident, and left in the cold for over a month, think it could last even longer.
The brand does make heaps of difference.

Anyway, the new I bought, was the brand, but I'd just go for the one listed for Prelude. After some comparison with the one for Accord, the one for lude is a little bigger and expensive (by $10).

After reconditioning the alternator, REMEMBER, and REMEMBER to get'em check for the voltage, or your light bulbs would keep blowing out.
