Hello Experts
I had a service recently and was told that my suspension bushes should have been 'reset' after I lowered the car.
Does anyone know what this means/involves and how important it is?
Also, for those with dumped cars, how do you get it onto a hoist at your mechanics workshop? I'm told they had to try 3 hoists before getting mine on.

Some bushes from factory are set in place for static factory height of the car..
For example the rear trailing arm bushing (on an EK i believe) is put in a specific way for the standard car height, but once you lower the car, the bushing is no longer in it normal factory height position it was designed to be in, instead its rotated some "X" angle to compensate for the amount lowered > trailing arm is raised more on the X axis?
Which means the bushing is under constant stress from not being in a "normal" position, and over time it will just deteriorate faster and eventually collapse.

Ah yeah I get that. The EG/EK rear trailing arm is pretty similar isn't it? I guess that could be what is going on.

Im not sure with the comparison of Eg/ek trailing arms.. but i would imagine there are other bushes on the car that are stressed a heap more from lowering it from factory height.

Can't do much for trailing arm bushes , but you can reset most lower control arm bushes front and rear by simply loosening a touch while the car is static ( on the ground or a hoist etc) then tighten back up to 40nm or so ( fairly tight with a ratchet NOT a breaker bar or impact tool etc

Let's say when I put my suspension in I took the Rear LCA completely out, put back in loosely and torqued them when I put the car back on the ground, is that considered resetting?
Thanks for the help.

some bolts are just bloody hard to get to proper torque without a ramp.
eg. rear lca to trailing arm behind muffler. fml.
