i really want the aem v2.. but i know.. theres no point spending 380 for it.. since my car is only a sohc vtec d16y8. therefore im askin bout the aem short ram, its only 120 bucks, sounds pretty good. so opinions?

Very small increase, nice sound, and because you end up driving your car harder you'll use more petrol also.

D16A8 would see better gains than any other D in my opinion. But I have a D16Y1 SOHC VTEC and I love it to be honest...I do budget mods on it to keep it as justified as possible, but I do love it :)

I've got a AEM short ram for my D16Y1.

The throttle response is improved & the induction noise is awesome. Makes a very soft BOV like noise when you release the accelerator, I can hear it when my stereo is on low volume. Overall I reckon it's great, go for it!

Ahhh...that soft hissing sound? :D

And if you just tap the accelerator a bit you get that 'gasp' sound too? :D
