View Full Version : My ECU got drowned! Got a spare EK4 Vti-R obd2a ecu I can try? [Brisbane]

My ECU got drowned late January due to a rooted drain in Herston, Brisbane and subsequently my Civic wouldn't start. The extent of the water damage isn't too bad as only part of the passenger side was submerged. Pity the ecu is nice and low in the passenger footwell!

Pulled the ecu out to find this :( :

As you can see this pin is cooked and no longer goes into the main connector block.

I snapped a pic of the part number to see if anybody has a spare I can try:

I live on the north side in Gordon Park and work in Toowong. Any kind soul around these areas happen to have a spare obd2a I can plug in to assess if it's just the ecu?

Serious? Nobody has an ecu I can try? Any other suggestions then like an ECU repair guy or wrecker which might provide success?

Oh and BTW Honda want a shade under $3k for a new ecu and it's gotta come from Japan...

contact akmotorworks, they are down in melb but they usually have ecu's lying around :)

or try adrian from toda, he sent me a ECU free just 2 try out, great guy :thumbsup:

I can probbaly fix it for you, or match the immo up for you on another ECU
