Aem Short Ram or Simota Short Ram

i want to get either the simota or the aem, but i cant decide, so please help. please vote, and leave opinions on each thankyou.

which kind of simota one are u talking about? the big tube intake or a normal SRI?

and what car + engine is it for?

in the end CAI is always gona be heeps better

gets alot of heat soak from the radiator ... u either need to box it or put in a good CAI duct ... its loud but u lose some bottom end .. has a bit of zing up top tho

personally ... i would save the cash and get a Fujita CAI or build ur own CAI system

yeah your right about that. but im planning to do a b18c engine conversion down the track.. but just for now jus a cheap simple intake system for fun =]

Like I said build your own CAI. Less than $200 no problem. Could probably do it for $150, or just buy an ebay CAI from USA for like $50-70 delivered.

i've ordered a CAI for my EK from the US from ebay and it only cost USD$58 for the CAI and USD$33 for shipping.

If U make a good intake + cold air ducting U can use it on the b18c too!

For example,my intake set up on my y4 would have been perfect for the b18c too.

you should h ave put CAI in your options lol.

But in this case i vote simota , in particular the whale penis, cause its cheap , a fair bit compared to aem.. and they do the same shit..i.e. make induction noise

SRI is not for wank factor =_= that Simota is great value! I'd say go for it!

Get it and run some ducting and you're all set!

The votes are so far 5 to 5. But i am leaning towards the simota. It looks tough, makes very decent sound and can b use on b series too. Oh and its cheap, about 113bux from ebay. Any idea or see someone use the simota but wit a diff air filter?

Take ya car out into the mountains at 1am on a cool night.When there's mist in the air and it's cold there in those hills,man,my car has a deeper note and goes hard.It's a different car then.

The idea is for the filter to be fully enclosed.Not easy,tried fabbing a couple of things but the design was sh!t.

Ended up buying my enclosed air filter as one unit,I'm sure you've seen it?

removed the resonator tday.. the simota should arrive tmo or tuesday. right now im jus tryin to figure out how to diy custom pipin to feed air from front bar to the simota airfilter section.
