G'day
Recently doing a head on a D15b4
Anyway there are no painted marks on the balancer for TDC.
I found a few lines pressed on the balancer. like this.

----I I I------I I------
.......1............2

After scratching the balancer i found.
The middle mark is red (1) and the very last one white (2).

Now i guess that the white is TDC and the red is 'so so' deg. BTDC
Can anyone confirm this
I have a feeling i have read about the red and white marks somewhere.
I'll have to check that.

Cheers

Just found these
BELT POSITIONING (http://media.honda.co.uk/car/owner/media/manuals/ConcertoManual/62sk301/5-31.pdf)
RED MARKS (http://media.honda.co.uk/car/owner/media/manuals/ConcertoManual/62sk301/5-21.pdf)

All the timing marks lined up but i had no luck firing.
No cough, splatter nothing.
When i turned the balancer another 360deg. the marks didn't line (cam to crank)
The cam gear was 180deg. out

Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers

the red mark is the timing mark, the single white mark is TDC,

I always use the markings on the block and timing belt gear behind the timing belt cover

what balancer are you talking about ? harmonic ??

Yeah harmonic.
I never knew this motor has markings on the block.
My manual said to re assemble the harmonic balancer end lower timing cover.
