Hey guys,

I've been trying to remove the tie rod ends off a DC5R to use for the DC5 coilovers on my EU3, and I've been having some trouble even loosening them up. I've looked up a few articles that say that remove the hex shaped bolt first and that would make removing the tie rod end easier, but i can't even get that to break. I turned them clockwise to crack it open, but it wouldn't budge. I tried WD40 and a rubber mallet but it didn't help either. Is there an easier way to do this? Should I try to take the whole tie rod off isntead of just the ends? Can't seem to get it to move! Any info. would be appreciated.

Cheers!

i read that i have to turn the bolt that holds the tie rod end in, to the right as that effectively moves it off the tie rod end, which then allows me to turn the tie rod end anticlock wise to take it off. i know what you mean, but if i turned the bolt to the left i am effectively moving it onto the tie rod end making it tighter. get me?

my bad man, i thought you were talking about the ball joint at the tie rod end. try using 2 spanners, 1 to old the tie rod and the other to undo the locking nut.
maybe my DIY will help explain this abit better as it has pics...

Turn the hex nut the same way you'd turn the tie-rod to get it off.
