To give you brief summary on b16 builds.
Most people run 10psi on a stock b16. And they average around 160-170kw atw.
Thats with proper fuel and ignition setup. And a healthy b16.
Turbos most commonly used on b series motors are the t3/t04, gt2871r, gt30 and gt35 (this one is for a bigger built b series.)
Couple that with a decent flowing log manifold or quality manifolds (equal length) and 3" exhaust setup.
The intercooler doesnt need to be excessively huge. As long it flows well.
I know it hasnt got anything to do with the turbo setup. But save up for a set of hasports. That rear engine mount will pretty much go on its first taste of boost.
If going turbo, the simplest mod to squeeze abit more power is a set of type r cams and springs. Itll increase your reliability at high rpms too.

How much money you got to spend?
Thats the question.
If you have a fair bit, i recommend just looking for a kit and then expanding from there.

One of the blokes in CRXAustralia made 193kw ATW, stock B16A motor. But of course it depends on the dyno.

im in the same boat as u "andy9999", been told bigger turbos or atleast bigger backing (something like a GT3037S turbo 1.06 A/R rear, which i saw in a kit forsale) because of the higher revs; needing better flow?
and as mentioned before some Type-R cams/springs/cam gears should keep it happy and fun on 10-12psi stock bottom end?...

I'd be careful running more than 10psi on stock motor internals. Probably 8-10 is best/most reliable.
