Hey all!

Does anybody know if a K24A out of an Accord would be directly interchangeable with a K24A out of a CRV???

Also, has anyone ever heard of a K24A breaking a retainer and dropping a valve???

No they are not exactly the same. The one found in the CRV is the K24A1 which has a lower redline (6.5k rpm), power (120kw) and compression (9.6:1)

The one found in the accord euro is the K24A3 which is stronger and redlines at 7000rpm and produces 140kw and has a higher compression ratio of 10.5:1

for a complete run down here is a good wiki:

also a main difference is the 'baby' vtec system found on the crv k24a.
