can anyone help with removing the tie rod from the hub?

trying to change my boot but the tie rod wont come loose.

use a decent sized hammer and just keep hitting it where you currently are.
it'll come out. make sure you don't hit from underneath as that'll screw up the thread on the ball joint.

Don't hit the nut/screw thread. It also helps to use some pressure/leverage (with a screw driver or pry bar) between the balljoint and the hub. Make sure of course that the nut is undone a few extra threads before you try so that you'll know when it releases.

took to my mechanic.
found out i have to literally "SMASH" it to make it pop open

Just for future reference Honda make a really special ball joint puller tool that you can use on those things. 100% of the time it works every time. Even on recalcitrant S2000 lower ball joints that are renowned for being hard to pop.
