View Full Version : Clicking sound. Cause for concern?

I've notice my EM1 sometimes makes a single click sound when I take my foot off the clutch pedal, and sometimes (less often) when I take my foot off the accelerator.

What could this be? And is it a sign of problems (or future problems)?

The car is stock apart from an Injen CAI.

wheres the sound coming from? in the driver side footwell? interior exterior?

I get a squeeky clutch on my EM1, when the car is warmed up. I can also hear the gears engaging when im in a closed area, the sound sorta bounces of the wall.

Thanks for the reply. No it's not the clutch. As with probably every civic coupe its squeaks like hell, but it's something else.

The sound seems to be coming from somewhere in the engine bay, definitely from the front part of the vehicle. I really don't know.

If anyone can shed some light on this, I'll definitely give some reputation.

Is it transmission related? When you say "click" and "foot off the clutch pedal" it sounds like its from the gearbox/clutch master cylinder area.

i'll take a punt, engine mount?

pop the bonnet and give it a rev and see whether you see anything out of the ordinary i.e. excess movement

clutch master was replaced 15,000kms ago. And i do agree, it can be a myriad of things.

Cheers mate, I'll try that.

Some of my engine mounts (esp rear- I've seen some cracks there) are showing signs of age. I'll also give them an inspection.
