Really basic noob question, please HELP though :)

Hey guys,
I just got a new car, and i removed this plastic engine compartment cover thing specified in the red region in the link. it's not there but basically the plastic cover goes over the whole thing (http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/128/96962127.jpg) I also brokethe plastic nuts that kept it in place. I told my brother and he says it's better if it's there because air flow from under the car comes up, and that plastic thing keeps the air in cooling the engine or whatever. So should i put it back on, or it makes no difference?

Won't make any difference if its there or not. Ya still got a bonnet closed down.

its just cosmetic makes the engine look pretty prob keeps more heat in than cool air

shouldnt make a difference. imho its there to keep the engine bay looking tidy.

If you still want it on, you can buy those plastic nuts from supercheap !

the closest advantage you get from taking it off is that you just made your car lighter by a kilo hahahaha lol

Purely aesthetic part, i highly doubt it will affect engine temps
