View Full Version : how important is a bump stop in a shock?

ok juss putting some tein s-techs on the car and when i pulled the rear right shock off the bump stop rubber was almost all gone ...
all other 3 points are fine
now do i need to get to a honda dealer and get a new one? or can i put it all back together and just drive?

can u buy them over the counter?
i snapped a rocker cover bolt as well ... can i get these at honda as well?

yeh dude can get all above at honda dealership. just give them your VIN#, will be easier for them to find the part.

Yeah the bump stops are important, particularly on modern cars because they tend to be used often as a type of progressive rate spring right at the end of travel. If you don't have them and your dampers bottom out internally they will live a short and unpleasant life :).
Many Honda parts departments are open until 12 on a Saturday down here in SE Australia.
