what was used to remove the sound dedaning so well and in one piece... tools/materials??

Mattski_VTIR
04-04-2010, 08:56 PM
Dry ice in small cubes was used to cover whole piece, and then a hammer was used to gently remove once frozen. Not all pieces came of this way tho.

The carpet was out of my Vtir integra, and the braided hose line is for a vtec oil pressure gauge, handy if your at the track.

I am running the spoon rip off rims at the moment, but thinking of using the white buddyclubs instead. The exhaust is x-force, as are the headers (4-1). Intereior lining will be left as is, same with the dash. I will post some pics of the interior soon.

and how is the fitment of the DC2 carpet in a EG? any serious modification needed, any holes visible once fitted?

Pretty sure I've seen this parked outside Honda up the service road near Moss St? If this is the same one, it looks 10x better in the flesh.

Good work man, keep it up and let us know how the k20/Dc2 build goes!

Hey update Every one!... I bought Mattski's_VTIR eg and had it all straightened up and fixed.. blah blah after alot of new parts and a bit of work from my mates at Brisbane Collision we got the shell back to pretty good condition then i refitted everything back in except for the parts that were sold off before i could snatch them.. Will post pics soon! Its a bit different now to what it was originally, more of a daily then a track car. Alot of trimmings refitted and A/C installed back in caus of the heat and the black interior..
New parts added :-

Dc2r 2001 dash (cluster, centre console, blower etc)
pedders shockies and king spring super lows
hassport mounts
dc2r carpet and rear seats
all interior sprayed black and suede roof linner
Ek9 headers
exedy heavy duty organic clutch and lightened flywheel
and last of all Super duper red caliper paint on the calipers!..

The car will prob be back up for sale soon.. got a bit bored now that the cars finished... im gona start a k20 conversion on another EG civic, now that i got a k20 engine after my dc5 gto flooded in the crazy ass floods we had.. =O
