Spare key

I want to cut a spare key for my dc2 but was informed there is a 13 digit code inside the key that needs to be programmed into the new spare key. The guy quoted me $60 for it.

Will a normal cut key work without the code start the car?

Depends whether your dc2 is fitted with factory immobilizer or not.

if it isn't then any cut key will do.

if it is, you can go to Honda to spend a shit load for the original key or you can go to a locksmith and they can copy the code in your old key into a new cut key.
