Hi guys I currently have a dc2 vtir and have blown the gearbox, I have tried to do a search through the forum with no success. Im just wondering what choices on gearboxes do I have to replace my current munched up box. Are the GSI 5speed gearboxes the same?

Thanks in advanced.

Stupid question I know, but how did you blow your gearbox up? Bad shifting? Sorry but these things I'd like to know for my benefits lol,

Apologies for hijacking lol

Nope GSI gearboxes have different ratios, steer clear of them cause they have very looooong ratios.
You could go for the gearbox from an EK4 - B16, 98+ DC2R - nice shorter ratios w/ 4.7 final drive + LSD, or the EK9/96 DC2R box - 4.4FD (same as dc2 vtir) but with LSD.

Or you can get your current one rebuilt with all new bearings/synchros/seals/shafts etc.

So a b series b16 box will bolt up from a eg6?

It should, I'm pretty sure all b-series gearboxes (hydro at least) are interchangeable, I'm currently running a B16 gearbox on my B18CR right now.

Not 100% about the B18C2 though, so hopefully someone who knows for sure will be able to shed some insight.
