RE001 are too expensive they were good when they first came out but now they're rip off and they're crap too.
Kumho KU36 is probally one of the most bang for buck tyres out at the moment, cheaper and better then RE001.
However you never stated what you're looking for in the tyres, long life? Grip? Wet Grip? Anything?

you drive an s2000...you should be able to afford to put good rubber on it.

Grip and decent life i guess, a bit of both im not sure what to look for in tyres, never needed to change a tyre in my life but im buying stock oem's with no tyres and i want to put a decent set on. How much are the Kumho KU36 for 4 tyres thanks :)

Arnd $150 per corner - give or take. fronts are bit cheaper, rears slightly more expensive. Then add in fitting and balancing 4 wheels should be $60 all up.

They're cheap and REALLY good as well. However they don't last that long you should get about 1 year outta them, maybe abit more.
Tyres are the single most important thing you can buy for your car so it's always good to invest in good tyres.

$150 a corner.. ? they're not that cheap than.. consider they're only 16"..

I bought a set of Falken ze912.. read some reviews and apparently they're decent tires.. they were $170 per corner but this was through JAX .. so i'm sure you could get it cheaper if you went to another smaller tyre shop.. bare in mind, these are 17" .. not 16"

Falken ZE912 ain't even close to the same class as the KU36.

Every other tyre in the KU36's class cost alot more. Falken RT615, Bridgestone RE11, Advan AD08, Dunlop Z1 Star Spec.
the ZE912's are a family car tyre LOL

i've got no idea about tyres.. hence i said.. "read some reviews and apparently they're decent tires.." hahahaha.
they seem pretty decent to me though.. good grip and do well.

Hi,

Welcome to Ozhonda. Please make sure you read around a bit as we cannot do everything for you. Call up some shops regarding prices.

For now have a read of this thread:

Agreed. Although, they'd be the bottom of the extreme summer performance class IMO. But it is definitely cheaper - other tyres if bought from shops would be $300 a corner. So best value for money. Unless you want to import from the states like I did....managed to get a set of z1 Star-specs for $600 shipped. Fantastic tyre.

You could technically settle for any tyre you want. It really depends how you drive your car - like a hairdresser (what is vtec?) or racer (want heaps of corner-g's, heaps of grip, late braking). hahaha

I like the Toyo T1R. Good grip, great price - about $600.00 per set and work all the way down to the limiters. Great tyre in the wet, drove em hard last winter up through the snow covered hills and they worked ace.

Hey guys just one last question :) for the OEM rims, could i put an offset of 225/50 R16 front and back? or will it be bad.. thx :D

Offset has nothing to do with the tyres.

Short answer no it won't be bad, non-staggered tyre set ups are common. You might find it steers a little slower and/or feels less planted in the rear on power out. But over all it won't make much of a difference unless your really on it.
