Is it just me or is the high beam on eks really crap?? I thought my ones was stuffed so i tried my sisters ej8 and same thing. Just double checking if they are really crap or my car and my sisters high beam needs replacing.

Cheers...

could be the kelvin rating? maybe change to a different colour globe. white/blueish is best for a clear night, weather yellowish is best for rainy days/nights.

i think he is just talking about the globes in general... so pretty sure he is talking about both low & high beam.

if you do go for the hotter kelvin rating, make sure you stay within your standard wattage rating. using higher wattage globes will melt cables and harnesses.

if you dont want to get hids just get better globes

in my old ek i had phillips diamond vision globes

think they were around 5000k and they did the job

fk getting hids, I hate people with them...

just get some bright adr approved bulbs, my calibres (supercheap auto $38 for two bulbs in H4) I use in mine are just fine for my interstate trips and produce a legal/not offensive to ther motorists field of vision...

then again without proper alignment of the bulbs anything you put in therw has potential to have poor visibilty

I'd try re-aiming them before spending on bulbs

I would first try re-aiming them. My stock ek headlights/high beams were pretty good.
If you're still not happy, grab some slightly brighter globes from autobarn.

yeh mate correct go to supercheap and get the h4 calibra ones man they are usually behind the counter cost from memory $35-40 and the low and high beam are awsome you wont regret it man. hope it helps

my dads headlights on the magna (1999) were aimed to the very bottom for some reason..
i think its cause we sent it to somany dodgy asian mechanics over the years
(light bracket was also broken and fixed with wax.. fail)

so we were driving the magna around with around 5 meters of vision at night for 2 years thinking the car is just old & fkd
i decided to have a look at it cos i was so bored and figured out how to aim the headlights.
everythings all good now, 5 meters of vision is now 20 meters or something!

make sure you dont take your mechanic to dodgy places too often.
i have come to believe that few stupid mechanics develop a grudge against certain types of cars and decide to do stupid stuff to them.
