Hey guys just need your help with something, i was about to buy an s2k the other day as i sold my car yesterday, and a police check on the honda revealed it was written off twice in yr 2002 and is under finance still so it was an instant no no, anyway the only good honda's i have found to look at are in NSW but unfortunately i am located in victoria so was wondering if u guys could tell me any extra costs for buying interstate, as the only gud value s2k's in my price range on the market atm are in ns,w anyway any help would be much appreciated.
Brendan

Its about $500 shipping interstate...personally I'd fly up and drive it back (without speeding cause from NSW to VIC you'd get speed trapped so many times) ... because those shipping companies the employees do all sorts of retarded sh*t to your car in the holding yard.

My advice is keep waiting. When I was looking all the good ones were in Victoria. Either way, waiting and saving more money means you can buy a better, later model one in Vic when one does pop up.

And you might be able to transfer rego and save a packet when buying within the same state.

Not much extra cost, you'll need to get it transported (transport cost) to you or you can drive it back (petrol cost). Im sure you'll need to get it inspected by VIC ROADS before getting it registed in VIC. My S2000 is for sale, heres a link if you wanna see. http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?128992-2003-Honda-S2000

ok thanks guys, i dont really have time to save up to much more as i am really strugling finding ways to work, so that why im considering all options, also thanks nismo301, but your s2k is far out of my price range ,im looking at spending 20-21k, as i am only an apprentice and do not earn very gud wages atm so im quite tight on money, and yes i do realise the car will be high k's

wont be easy finding a good s2k for 20-21K. Why not get a DC5R or save abit more to get a good one.

like i said i dont have the means to get to work all the time so i need to find a car quite quickly, and i have been researching what car for months and it came down to this or an rx8, but this seemed to just have the edge over the rx8 on performance but was cheaper to run...although insurance is more lol.
i am still looking at rx's though cause there are more in my price range but there are no s2k's in vic that have done less than 170,000k's and there are plenty in nsw cheaper and less k's all around 130,000
its jsut roadworthy in vic, transportation/fuel, etc all ads up a bit buying interstate.

if your really keen, fly to sydney and drive it back.. your best bet. make sure you do a REVS check on the vehicle you want, i got myne it was all good but were buying one for my uncle and 4/4 of the cars weve looked at have all been on revs as a repairable write off. PM me the ones in sydney you want, i might have already looked at them in person or have done a revs check on em, ill tell you if its a good buy. theres one going on car sales, the guy hasnt been able to sell it so hes putting it on ebay
its a 99 model
120xxxKM
very clean from the pictures
ring him up, get the VIN, engine number etc..
perform a revs check : http://www.revs.nsw.gov.au/

hes selling it on EBAY, with no reserve( so if it sells for $15000 its yours) so bid for it if you want

my life advice, if u cant afford to spend the money on getting a good example, then dont buy the car. pretty much applies to everything else i guess, dont have the cash, dont buy it
