Hey guys considering buying a 4.9 FD for my gearbox. Just wondering what else do i need to fit this into my gearbox.. also my gearbox is making a really loud input shaft bearing noise which will go away when i dip the clutch in. So what other parts do i need to fix the bearings? im going to be purchasing this part

What kind of LSD do you think would be best?. Has anyone tried OBX? i know everyone bags them out but has anyone tried using it?.
How much difference would i feel with a 2-way mugen lsd compared with a normal helical EK9.DC2R LSD?

avoid obx
Go with mfactory or similar....to install Sam look at -
Why not get a Mfactory LSD at teh same time ?

ITR counter shaft
ITR 1st gear , ITR collar , needle bearing to suit shorter collar

Then you reuse your standard diff + diff bearings. Replace input shaft and counter shaft bearing/s , probably replace whatever bearings you can at the same time too.

The JDM 1st Gear parts are not required to install our final drive, as we have specific fitments available for the non JDM '98 Spec vehicles. It is straight plug n play.

With regards to the LSD, I would recommend you stick with a gear type LSD (i.e Helical). I'm guessing your is mainly used on the street?

Also, that company on eBay is not authorized to export to Australia. Please purchase your parts from our Australian Office (e240 on this forum) :)

Sam , if thats the case all you need is the FD itself . It will be a 100% bolt in after that.

Then , you should replace relevant bearings etc

Nope, I'm running a gearbox from a B16A - S4C/Y21 or whatever model it is.

you reckon its worth the money to upgrade 4.9fd on N3E gearbox (4.7fd)

S4C/Y21 Hydro = JDM SiR or SiR 11 B16A i believe

Same box as mine..

I'm running an M-factory LSD 1.5 way and its bloody fantastic

Nearly killed myself punching it out of a corner on the first day lol

Lennard (e240) imported it for me :)
