View Full Version : subwoofer playing on it own!!! please help!!

hey guys,

not much on the audio side...but still hoping you guys can help me out.
sub and amp is all set up and sounding fine...BUT!
as i drive or there is some movement in the car...the sub goes out of beat with the song and when i turn off the music, the sub still beating on its own..

i have my amp on top of my sub and also running my power and speaker cable on differnet sides...can anyone help me out? please...

check your grounding. there may be a problem with your goinding causing there to be some residual current after you power down.

Earth doesnt make the beat.. it can cause winding n shit .. but winding doesnt effect low frequency.

Most likely your RCA's at a time like this.. id probably try running your RCA's to ANOTHER CAR just to test.. if it doesnt do it anymore most likely your head unit. Cause this is what produces the sound .. and sends it to your amps. I really doubt its an earthing issue but another thing is.. that if you dont earth your amp .. properly your amp will suck earth from the RCA's into your head unit but you would get ALOT OF WINDING lol. So best give that a check to, be on the safe side :)
