the petrol guage on his dc2 vtir doesnt work (it always reads empty), his got a dc2r cluster on it. is it just the wiring or is the petrol guage just ****ed and ill need to source another one?

also the car is a jdm front, and has bog, or something, like all around the engine bay, like a strip of bog on the outter lining of teh engine bay. im not 100% its bog, it could be welds but its like a pastey/rough patch of line his just put around the bay, and sprayed it silver, but color coded with his whole car.

also when i press the clutch, the friction point is really low compared to other cars, the clutch's friction point is as far as "1/2 a hand" size. (so not much at all)

also the suspension slightly creaks when at a turn, sounds likes its coming from the back, where it looks like his compressed his stock springs.

also the front bumper jdm, is like, hanging off on the LHS, as its got no bolt... but i dunno if it can even clip to under the headlights

with all these considered, im going to low ball her cause it kinda sounds like a headache, or should i just stay clear? btw this one IS NOT on revs.

NOW ive looked at about 5 dc2 vtirs that have caught my eye, each of em has there flaws, one black dc2 has drippy paint and the owner doesnt even have his story straight, so sounds sus. and his jdm front was welded so shockingly, atleast this one (the one im talking above) has got his jdm front welded properly. inspected a red one, was kinda sus too, looked like the engine bay had been repainted cause it had over spray here and there, and looked like something was missing, cause there was a section where something needed to be bolted on or something, and it wasn't painted properly, then i found out that it was on revs.

so the one with the problems im describing at the top of the thread, is like the best out of everything i've seen, but im in no rush to buy, but if i can pick this up for dirt cheap i will lol

other than telling us your thoughts, i have no idea what teh purpose of this post was.

however for whatever its worth, if i were you id sit around for a while.
you've said everything you looked at had its flaws, which is inevitable, but some of them sound shocking.
my advice is to just sit back, wait, relax, and sooner or later a gem will pop up for a decent price, and thats when you snap it up.

nothing worse than going to buy a shit car that is shitter than you thought and having to pour money just to
have it running properly without problems growing bigger and bigger.

good luck finding the right car for you

err, okay. ill type this in better english for you guys too understand my questions within the post. i was asking questions not thoughts. hehe

WHY is the clutch so low, is it a hd cluth or something similar?
WHAT could be the reason for all the welds or bog or something in the engine bay? does it relate to having the JDM front conversion
WHY doesn't the fuel work, could it be the wiring? or is it most probably just ****ed, and i will need a new cluster?

type R cluster into an older model dc2 will never work.
deal with it or get it rewired.

I have a Type R cluster in mine and it's working just fine, just swap the flexible green PCB between the two clusters.

lol what do you expect for a 10+ year old car, all cars clutches are diffrent, if you are worried about the cluster and the clutch when you buy it just change it or get it checked out, same with the weld seam on the engine bay. ask for log book, previous service records etc.
cause for a 10+ year old car you can't expect it to be perfect, every car has its flaws , if you notice it or not..

lol ive seen 1999 cars perfect, mainly engine perfect, everything in good running condition everything, but this was a different model car

every integra has got something wrong with it and its hard looking for one.

the guy has owned the car for about 7 years now, its got all the logbooks, but his service manual only goes up to 60,000KMs, from then he said he never got the book stamped. but it does look like the car has been serviced.

When clutches are installed, the friction point can be adjusted, there could be numerous reasons why it is there, but that car is stuck with that clutch unless they take everytihn go out to re adjust it.
Alternatively, something could just be badly ****ed to be honest. but any welds or bog ups imply some kind of accident or something wasnt straight and needed to be correct - id stay away if i were you.

Bog up - could be a number of reasons too, maybe it was in a front on and is a repairable write off? or it was in a front on and was just fixed by some backyard guys? the possibilities are endless.
JDM front conversions only need to have radiator support welded on(someone should confirm this)

fuel - yes, both answers are plausable.

i think it makes no sense for the guy to suddenly not decide to have his log books stamped if hes had the habit of doing so in the past. whilst it may 'look like' its been serviced, do a compression test, it should reveal some info about the condition of the engine.
as i mentioned earlier, look harder.
your right alot of cars out there are dodgy and have bad histories, but you dont have to buy them!

if your talking about the price here then a drop from 12 to 7 sounds stupid already considering its nearly half the cars value,
judging from what you've said the owner either loves you or is completely stupid lol

If your not happy with the cars, then don't buy it, it you wanna save some catch then by all means do what ever you like, cause at the end of the day , its really you that are making the decisions. if your looking for jdm front car, why not get a clean vti-r with full log books and do the conversion, that way you know whats going on.. or get the trashed vti-r's and just fix the flaws..
