hey guys,

i have ek9 5 stud conversion, dc5r brembo calipers and s2000 rotors.

i was told that s2000 rotors would straight bolt on to my hub to be able to fit the brembo's.

tried this and the back of the rotor is too small to sit flush on my hub.

question is, is it dangerous to machine the rear of the rotor to make it bigger to sit flush on the hub, or will i have to take the hubs off and machine the hub to make them smaller to fit the rotor on.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

personally i wouldnt do it, its your braking system, pretty important.

how much needs to be machined anyway to fit? able to find dc5r rotors?

dc5r rotors don't have the right offset to let the caliper mount up to the caliper holes on the hub.

i guess im gonna have to take the hubs off and machine them.

be alot easier to use another big name brake maker (or even many of the hk companies now), least then when it comes time for engineering it'll pass the toughest inspections

seeing as that part was designed with a relatively high factor of safety (1 due to it being the stopping power of the vehicle), I wouldn't be doing any machining to make anything fit. But in saying that there was an article I found that may help you.

In stock form, the Legend mounting brackets are too thick to fit between the knuckles and rotors, so we took 4mm from the back (knuckle) side of the bracket. Be patient when attempting this part of the project because the mounting points need to be as flush as possible.

you mean the center bore is too small to fit on to the hub?

afaik it's safe to do, not like you're drilling holes through it or making it unbalanced

lots of guys in the states redrill to 4x114.3 and machine the center bore on dc2 rotors to fit 96spec itr gear
