Hey,

I'm just wondering if its normal for an ORC HD clutch to make a rattle/ticking noise, while the clutch is enganged or disengaged it still makes the sound. It is on a DC5R

Thanks

Like a scraping sound?
Thats normal for ORC non-silent type.

Its normal for both the silent and non-silent to make a rattleing noise when disengaged (clutch in). There should be no noise when its engaged (clutch out)

hmmm theres the noise even when the clutch is enganged or disengaged. Could it be something else? cause the owner says its the ORC clutch he put in

there will be some slight noise with the orc, but if you may think it isnt, then it may be a bearing in the box (isb) or clutch bearing (depending on the time of installation, and the way its driven/worn in (if new))

many threads on it if you think its that

Shouldn't be any noise when it engaged as its one combined unit when engaged. Only noisy when disengaged, because of the floating plate inside the Orc. Might be something else as stated above.

if it is a bearing in the box, which they might just tell you it is... you should get it opened and checked.

it is hard diagnosing noises just by listening to them.

and each mechanic may or may not think its something different.
