Hey
Today my car died on me today

Pulled up at traffic light, car was feeling a bit jumpy/shaky. then as i pulled down the next street, the accelerator stop working and the whole car shut off luckily there was a 7/11 next door
Turned off the car and then when i tried to turn it back on ..it wouldnt start
when i turn on the ignition, the car would try and start but no response (there is no crackling noise, so prob not starter)
Electricity is still running through the car as radio/headunit still plays

RACV checked it, but couldnt figure out the problem... had to get a tow truck to send it toHonda Service

Honda called back later telling me that the left side of engine had "dropped" meaning the bracket holding up one side had broken/fell off? but thats not entirely the problem. to diagnose fully they'll need to strip the engine (at least 4hrs of work @ $115/hr)

can anyone determine what the problem is?? or has this happened to anyone else??/
Or anyone know of any mechanics that charge a more fairer price??? (South/East Melbourne, closer to Box Hill Area)
+ tow decent tow services

Thanks

had the exact same problem, ended being my fuel pump. so got a mechanic to do a complete flush of my fuel system and replaced the fuel pump and filter.
i dont know the exact details, but he mentioned that it would be a lengthy process

it could maybe be your dizzy as well, check if you have spark from the spark plugs/coil

For the left side to 'drop' your torque mount + engine mount would need to be completely collapsed, and it doesn't really explain the cranking-but-not-starting.

Check your main relay and fuel pump, also good idea to check your distributor and sparks/leads to make sure it's getting the spark it needs.

But just to confirm, you're saying it cranks but doesn't start right?

Exactly.Unless when it fell it pull something off..

Sound like the ICM is dead..I would swap in a known working ICM (ignition control module) 1st to try and get it started. Then the main relay.

It's always a pain in the ass when this stuff happens.Just look hard to get it sorted quickly and cheap as possible, that really = U doing the work.
