Hey Guys,
I'm new to this forum and I'm still learning about cars.
I currently have a DC2 Vti-R and had alot of work done to it which includes

Sand blast + shaved the head
replaced the valves
replaced head gaskets + vrs gaskets
new timing belt + tensioner
new waterpump

The car drives very well, however after all that work I am having some cooling issues with it.
Initially the car would overheat by going around the block and the reservior tank would boil. I addressed this issue by replacing the radiator cap.

I then decided to drive the car a bit more but I noticed the car was still overheating, I then flushed the radiator to try and remove some rust\junk in it and replaced the thermostat.

The car still had the same issues, I then noticed the fans weren't kicking on and replaced the fan switch and now my car can drive for while and will then eventually over heat.

All the parts are OEM except for the Spoon radiator cap and J's racing fan switch. Can I ask what would be the next logical step?

Thanks all!

is the oil and coolant mixing?

next logical step would be the radiator not up to the task or there is not enough flow going through your block. (its too clogged)

hav you tried cleaning your radiator... get a strong stream hose and run it through the colling fins... sometimes its not just what inside your radiator... its the junk caught within your cooling fins...

Have you run the car on idle and watched the fans turn on?

I don't believe the Oil and Coolant are mixing I'll check out the radiator

I think it maybe the head gasket is blown from being overheated previously. This is the reason the overflow bottle looks like it is boiling, as one of the cylinders is blowing air in to the water system from the blown head gasket. Take it to a mechanic an get the water system pressure tested.

The water wont mix with oil in this case.

that's worse case scenario that everyone dreads.

So a pressure test of the cooling system will tell if there is a BHG?? or will it just tell if there is a leak or not.?.?.? Dean....

I'm actually having problems of my own.

last year fixed up the crx.

another crx of mine is overheating now too, can't/haven't been able to source the problem yet.

hope its not worse case........

Sorry to steal the OP's thunder.....

I have taken my radiator to a mechanic and it turns out the radiator was blocked. I believe the issue has been resolved now, Thanks all! :D

Yes I have, and fan does turn on previously it did not which is why i replaced the fan switch.

Wouldn't this cause the coolant to turn into vapor and reduce the coolant level in the system overall?

I think I'll get a pressure test just to put my mind at ease.
