Hey guys

I have had my eg for a while now but haven't really got around to fixing up all the little problems with it but since i will be selling my car very soon i thought i would get around to fixing all the issues.

The one issue i thought i would ask on here is when starting to accelerate from 1st particularly if the car is on a hill, the whole car shakes. Sometimes mildly and some times violently. What would be causing this. It only happens when accelerating in 1st but the car doesn't do it all the time. It's like it chooses when to do it just to annoy me.

Any ideas on what could be the problem?

Thanx.

what are the revs like when it shakes?? im thinking you might need to be a little gentler on the clutch, but thats only if the shaking is at low revs....if the shaking happens at higher revs, i got no idea

if it's shaking at higher revs I would be investigating the balance of your wheels

even tyre wear?

check bushes. See if you have any play or if bits move that shouldn't. as above check tyre wear. If wheel balance more likely to be at higher speeds not take off

The revs are normal when it shakes, just the front of the car shakes and in turn, makes the whole car shake.
I'm kind of thinking it could be the engine mounts but how do you check if it is?

Would there be cracks in the mounts?

O and also, fairly certain it isn't wheel balance or alignment related as before i got one done, it was doing the same thing.

hey mate,

to me it sounds like ur engine mounts. it might be rooted. do a little of research on which common engine mount in an EG usually fails. then check it out, and if it is. replace the mount
