write off? no white flag?

hey guys, my car might be a possible write off :( my panel beater was explaining to me i could buy it back from insurance and fix it. Something about no white flag because it being more than 15 years old? can anyone explain what that means? i had too much heartache to ask lol

this means that u will get paid out and get to keep the car, u dont have to buy anything back, the car will remain registered and upto u if u want the insurance company to get rid of it for u...

just becareful the panel beater doesnt tell u that he will take care of it all, and that the insurance told him it will be (for example) $1000 for u to buy it back....coz ur panel beater will be full of shit tryiong to sell u the car back for no reason and then also charge you for the repairs..

been there done that.

i read on the news a week or two ago, that they are banning repairable write offs in NSW

^^^^but this aint clasified as a repairable write off, it may be a write off for whateva reason, buyt due to the fact that the vehicle is older than 15years it doesnt get anything put against it like VIV in melb, or its not listed on revs or anything like that
