i find my cai makes a louder growl than my sri. just my opinion, maybe its diff for b18c! any aftermarket intake with a good pod filter will do the trick. if you get a loud exhaust, it usually drowns out the induction roar. good luck with it!~

-_-

ITB's will do that, anything else will just sound like a really loud exhaust.

mhmmmmmmmmm, i think its time for a whale penis haha. my mate goes get a proper CAI like the injen ones, but too expensive.. how does the whale penis go performance wise?

oo. and does anyone have a CAI in melbourne? the weather is geting pretty wet..

CAI like injen fujita is much louder than whale penis... coming from experience

I have CAI in my Civic and my CRX. No worried with the wet unless you're a shit driver.

Loud VTEC crossover means you don't have a smooth torque curve.

Thats true, smooth feel all throughout the rev range. But then again OP doesn't care about performance so WHALE penis ftw

hows a stock box with a good filter?

If you're staying stock box I'd get a performance box filter, like K&N, and then remove the resonator and run some piping from the bottom of the airbox to the front of your bumper facing frontwards to push air into the box. Would probably go quite nicely.

If you remove the resonator alone it'll sound a bit louder, since that's the purpose of the resonator. Also save a couple of KG's :)

short ram air intake, straight through exhaust and change ur vtec activation to about 5,000rpm

How much is the whale penis intake roughly?

How much is the whale penis intake roughly?

depends if you get the real deal stuff j's racing is like $390, but Simota intakes should be around $150-$200 or so.

Don't expect power gain from a whale penis. End of the day its sucking hot air from your engine bay. If you want extra power, get ur self a branded CAI

CAI with Trust Filter & Twin Straight Pipes FTW !!

for thoze injen owners is it really worth forking out the $350+ dollars ? Do you even notice a difference comparing to a other aluminum cai piping with decent pod.

go fujita can source from america $260 shipped. yes it is worth it much less hassle , as it is one piece, great air filter design, looks great

hey mate i just got a CAI put on my euro IN MELB ( i did some research im pre sure its illeagal so dnt hoon too much ;P) used to have a short ram i can tell u now that short ram is louder when ur in the car cos the filters in the engin bay but if u stand out side the car or put ur windows dwn CAI just roars like FKN ROARS push it past 6k revs and its a whole new sound. im loving it gives u a bit bettter performance and ull turn heads when u hit vtec. car just feels better. short rams alrihght havnt had a whale dick tho probs even louder but the hood will muffle a fair bit of that noise when ur driving so if u wana turn heads get CAI. im running the typhoon K&N system. cost 400 best money spent so far and easy to install
hope this helps :)

So CAI will be louder than whale penis intake? So whats the advantage in getting a whale penis intake lol? Not that we get that much rain, but i guess we do get the occasional flooding.

But would a whale penis with heat shield and cold air funnel from the bumper be as good injen/fujita CAI?

any differnce between the carbon and plastic one??

Bling ? it might have a thicker material.

I think SRI with heat shield and cold air feed is better than standard CAI, because your pod is closer to the engine - better throttle response.

Just aesthetic, not performance really...

Mugen Cai kinda is this setup, filter sits closer but cold air is fed up and pod is covered from hot air in bay! (y)

Yeah I'm currently fabricating my own box intake. Just have a cardboard mock-build atm to get the dimensions right for the engine bay. Will run flex-pipe to the front bumper :)
