DIY : Heat-shield over Pod Filter with cold air feed

DISCLAIMER: The following is provided as a GUIDE ONLY, and neither myself nor Ozhonda take any responsibility for the outcomes of someone else doing the following. You follow these steps at your own risk!
AIM: Install a DIY Heat-shield (over Pod filter) with a cold air feed, and get PQ points while I’m at it!
REQUIRED: Screw driver, Socket wrench set, Aluminum sheet and Superr-Flex vent ducts (can get these from Bunnings), CF wrap vinyl (PEP’s auto)

What’s wrong with this set-up?
http://i856.photobucket.com/albums/ab128/ajbm/DIY%20Heatshield%20with%20cold%20air%20feed/enginebay.jpg
1. DEFECT because of the uncovered Pod filter.
2. The heat inside the engine bay gets sucked into your intake.

SOLUTION:
PART 1: HEAT-SHIELD
1. Remove old intake setup
http://i856.photobucket.com/albums/ab128/ajbm/DIY%20Heatshield%20with%20cold%20air%20feed/DSC02283.jpg
2. Measure where you want to mount your Heat-shield.

3. Get your aluminum sheet, cut it to shape, then connect to each mounting points.

4. And for those who prefer to have a CF look…

Excellent.

How well does it seal though?

A couple more photo's of more detail - the foam etc would be good.

REPPED!

4. Create an opening for air to feed through your new setup
http://i856.photobucket.com/albums/ab128/ajbm/DIY%20Heatshield%20with%20cold%20air%20feed/DSC04857.jpg
5. Time to install your front bar back in yo!

RESULTS:
When comparing the difference since removing my resonator, I find my throttle response has improved significantly. It feels that its breathing better, and running smoother, and VTEC sounds a lot more nicer!

Now that you mentioned, I don't think the seal is that great in my Heatshield
That wasn't really my intention when I started this DIY... but now I'm contemplating on how I can improve the seal...
thanks again mate!

holy jeebus, that makes my intake heat shield look ghetto.
how did u get the bends and cuts so professional looking, u must have a proper jig or some shit, i had to use tinsnips, and it took ages, and i made bends with pliers.
mine does the job, covers the intake, but it doesnt seal that well, but its enough to keep the police happy
