Hi All,

Recently purchased a EG4 Gli and I'm looking to improve the handling. I've tried to search but I was unable to find a definitive answer.

I'm looking to install a rear sway bar onto the car and I was wondering what is required?

Does the EG4 come with a standard rear sway bar?
> If not, will any drilling be required to fit a sway bar?

Is the ASR subframe re-inforcement kit required?
> does this kit come with everything required to mount a rear sway bar?

Is there anything else I need?

I currently have a front strut bar only, would adding the rear sway bar make a noticable difference?

If you could share your experiences, or point me to the right direction it would be awesome.

Cheers! :D

Will.

you will need:

asr
eg5/dc2/aftermarket lca

and either:
whiteline sway bar kit
or
dc2r rsb, oem dc2r d-bush brackets, oem dc2r d-bushes & eg5/dc2 sway bar end links

I also have a spoon lower brace that connects the front control arms. I found this to be the best bang for buck. I actually noticed a difference.

hey mate, have a look at this pic to give you a rough idea of what you can do to the rear end of your eg4 to substantially improve the handling of the car. Also new nolathane bushes and an adjustable tie bar will help you on your way to make your car handle much better.

So from what you're saying I'll need:

JDM DC2R rear sway bar complete kit $325

DC2R / JDM EG6 rear lower control arm $290 a pair

ASR subframe reinforcement kit $295

Total: $910 *jaw drops*

I think i'll give it a miss for now.

Sway bars help. but depending on the size of it will make a noticeable difference
if you want handling for street use, better off getting good set of coilovers.
BUT
if your pockets aren't as deep (like myself) then you can always get the eg5 sway bar and LCA's and bolt them straight onto your car without needing a subframe.
this cost me $70 =D

work your suspension first. lowering your car on a decent set of springs (not kings) and shocks will give you better handling. KYB or koni would be good.
hope that helps
