i wouldnt bother. a b16 eg is slow enough as it is. ur money is better spent on aethetics or saved for an upgrade.

lool....
bro just try the carby tune I drive a GL as well and its not fast man
for you to hit 80 in 2nd you must be hitting like massive revs man
just a waste of petrol
get it tuned, for the gain its not expensive
rey2009
04-05-2010, 04:22 PM
i hit massive revs but never red line it lol

theres not much point trying to smash people in a GL, it goes like nowhere..
get it tuned mate you'll be happy with the increase, i've driven and been in a tuned GL and its MUCH quicker than stock
stock is an effort to catch up with traffic at the lights.. high revs and no acceleration

Threads like this remind me why I rarely browse the noob section.
Just leave it alone. Spend the money on the suspension instead.

single cam carb tuning isn't very popular due to the costs of getting anywhere...
to get the same gains as a b series conversion, you'd have probably spent twice as much on a carby single cam set up...
as far as tuning goes, check out d-series.org and search quad carbs...the keihin carbies they use on some ducati motor bikes do wonders for the d15...
bisimoto.com is also a company in the US that makes cams for single cam racing...
as far as 'tuning' the dual carb motors...the only thing you can do without getting all these new parts and opening the motor would be to reduce the slack on the accelarator cable to give it more response, and also tuning the carbs to run richer...
you can also cut a few coils off the spring that open the butterflies on the carbies but its not even worth it, you hardly notice it over removing the slack on the accell cable.
also open up the air box...if you cut around the air filter housing to let more air from all directions which is beneficial for carbs... dw about cold air going all the way to the back of the engine bay as the carbies also benefit from hot air in certain cases where it reduces the condensation of petrol on the intake walls of the carbies where the jets sit.
