Is there anything electrical you fitted yourself? What aftermarket stuff do you have?

do i have to check everyfuse:S and are all the colour fuses same? example if a red one blew i put blue on in would it work? and numbers on top does it matter?

Nah dont check everyfuse, there should be a fuse box diagram. just check the ones you think are blown. You have 2 physically pull it out and see if they are blown

yes check every fuse if you want to find the problem

The fuses are colour coded because of the different ratings, example; if you found a red one blown(10A) then you have to replace it with another one of the same colour otherwise you risk damaging and burning electrical components and wires.

Here are the fuse colour codes and ratings

Orange-5A
Red-10A
Blue-15A
Yellow-20A
Clear or Amber-25A
Green-30A

Orite guys i've checkd all the fuses one of them was BLOWN
I replaced it with same one it blew again

so I went electrician and he checkd and said it's short cuz he tested it and light was coming low

he said I've to leave the car in order for them to check every wire

but I didn't drop it since I don't have the money :(

he said minimum 80 to 200 :(

can anyone give me suggestions or anyplace cheap in bankstown Canterbury area?

Please help can't drive at nite:(

thanksss

u can A. Find a bigger fuse to handle it.
B. Find the cable that isn't plugged in correctly.

other then that. my guess is that the switch for the headlight isn't connected properly to the sensor to tell the interior lights to turn on while your driving (Hence no beeping sound when lights are left on) also that is possibly why your fuse keeps blowing.

goodluck

please do me a favour and DO NOT take this advice. fuses are chosen for applications for a reason and putting a bigger fuse in could potentially open it up for more damage. to give you an idea, i set my amp on fire by accidentally using the wrong fuses, my car smelt like an electrical fire for the next week.

either try looking at the dash when you pass overhead lights (we had to do this in an old car where the dash lights didnt work.), or cough up the money for an electrician, or try and do it yourself...but if you dont know what your looking for, i dont suggest the third option

If its blown, could possibely get away with going up to the next size fuse.
Eg. Red 10A to blue 15A, shouldn't blow then, but not being an electrician, not sure if its recommended to do that or not lol :s
Feel for ya mate, driving at night is the BOMB! :D
Hope you fix it asap

i think the dew in your headlight may have caused the problem. check the harness at both headlights for anything that dosnt look right. example, some thing wedged between postive and negative terminals of the headlight or a kink in the cable. the fault could be visible if you havnt done any electrical modifications to the car.
do you have a multimeter?

and NEVER use a high rating fuse than standard, you WILL cause damage to the wiring install which can cause a fire. with the higher rating fuse the insulation of the cable will start to degrade as more current equals more heat.

dont ever repalce a fuse with a higher rating otherwise you can possibly cause an electrical fire.

you can still drive with your headlights?
just drive without the cluster lit

theres an auto electrician on punchbowl road just when you turn left of yerrick rd onto punchbowl, go in check his price, hes usually pretty decently priced

Never replace a fuse with anything other than the standard rating. They're different for a reason, otherwise they'd all be 20's or something.

In my experience it's not always cheap to have a wiring short fixed.
I had one where my brake pedal would activate my parker lights, and my parker lights wouldn't work unless I had my headlights on also. I replaced the fuse and could literally hear the little 'click' when the fuse popped another 3 times as I lightly applied the brake pedal with the car parked.

Basically the mechanic needs to check all the relevant wires related to the specific device and pretty much hunt for the short where the wire has worn out/frayed/crossed with another wire. This can be expensive as they might find it in 5 minutes or 2 hours. 2 hours in my case <lol>

This is also the same reason why I suggest that people buying Gen3 CRX's do NOT get the model with the electric targa roof device. This has over one thousand separate components and there is no easy way to diagnose the problem when (not if) it breaks down on you :D

I recommend just paying the money to an auto-electrician that you trust, if somebody you know can recommend an honest one to you.

lol ozhonda....

what fuse was blown btw. might help me help you

get a multimeter from one of your mates who probably go to tafe .

if its your dash cluster. get a dash cluster diagram of what each thing does. now start with multimeter on one and touch all the other connections.

this is a very long process but since you are looking for a short, but it also means the wires can be tested from the same end by selecting one and testing the others.

now when the multimeter finally beeps you have found two wires touching each other. check what they are. you will find 2 grounds that will beep for sure but anything else should not.

good luck.

and to the guy who was talking about each fuse colour meaning different number. please... fuses can come in any colour buddy.

EDIT"you are using a sounded OHMs test for this on the multimeter. so it will beep if you dont know how to read it. every other time it will read OL meaning open line or translated for you to mean no connection (no short)

and do not ffs use a bigger fuse. they are there for a reason

you dont want someone to put your car on ACC and end up in a fire because you could not find two wires touching each other
