i recently installed an jdm eg6 cluster into my eg3.
everything lights up fine

BUT

the rev gauge doesn't seem to be matching with the car 100%.
when i accelerate it seems right
when i drive constant 100 it slowly drops to 2 when it should be at 3

could this be my ecu?>
or cluster?

Wat engine r u running? Not that it should matter

Sounds like the cluster needs to be recalibrated or VSS.

what do you mean.
im still running the standard engine from a eg3

the tach doesn't rely on VSS, only speed.

did you wire it up? EG3s dont have a tach do they?

hahaah bro your a funny **** no shit your speed or rev doesn't match because cluster is not made for eg3 it's for eg6 so you need at least the right running gear for it to be accurate

actually you're wrong. majority, if not all honda tachometers and speedo's work exactly the same. I have a working CRV cluster in my ED civic.

All VSS units give the same electrical pulse, 637rpm gives 60km/h. Therefore clusters can easily be swapped if wired up correctly. Even the old cable driven clusters are the same

You just made yourself look like a fool 'bro',

EG6 cluster have been known to work perfectly fine in many other EG models like EG3, EG4, EG5 EG8 etc regardless of what engine or running gear they have..

too right,
ive got an eg5 cluster in my eg3, and it works fine.. maybe it could be a fault with the cluster as stated before?

so any ideas why my revs aren't matching?

in the past people have just done straight swaps with no problems.

i will swap the cluster over with a eg5 one and see how that goes.
keep the ideas coming.

My revs isn't matching as well; in first gear it's off by as much as 500rpm! In the higher gears the difference is almost negligible but still going by the huge tachometer next to my A-pillars is a bit annoying and ricey!

problem has been fixed!

just need to turn the rpm gauge around to match =D

for future people who may read this post for help what exactly did turning the RPM gauge around do? I thought you just swapped the cluster over directly?

sounds like you swapped the actual gauges out from one into the other and installed it the wrong way? any pics?
