Is there much difference between the cost of these, I'm thinking Ill get coil covers just for the ease of changing the cars height, but if springs and shocks are substantially cheaper I'll go for them.
Thanks

If you're going track get coils. If it's just a daily driver I'd consider the springs/shocks a little more.

for a decent set? not really
coilovers for performance. However i didnt have the $$$ so i did the cheap version. DC2R suspenion on eg = $400 all up.

i always thought would be way more for coils....... Not sure about shocks and springs but most coils i've seen start around 1500 and go up from there for decent stuff.

ahhh fair enough. can i pose another question? why would someone choose shocks and springs over coilovers? would comfort be the main issue?

well there's always that and the fact that there's not much options to rebuild the shocks if need be(besides tein@fulcrum)

something to keep in mind, a car with well setup shocks/springs will easily out perform a car with not very well set up coilovers. You need to consider the science behind each design. If you have a really stiff set of coilovers, you car will handle much worse on bumpy mountain roads than a good set of springs and shocks. I had a rally dvd that explained it really well, maybe you can try youtubing it. While driving the chassis should stay at the same height and only the wheels & susspension should move.
