Hi Guys,

I am just wondering how long would a battery last if the car isn't driven.

Also just clarifying the car has to be driven for it to actually charge, not just turned on .

thanks.

the battery would last long if you disconnected it. just remove the negative cable from the battery. batteries can decide when to die down, can last 1 to 6yrs.
yes it would be best to take the car for a drive to recharge the battery correctly.

I suspect your battery is getting weak. How old is the battery? My own experience is that a battery in good condition can easily survice 3 - 4 weeks without the car being driven and can still start the car easily.

Nah i don't have a multimeter.
Would it be worth purchasing one

I thought that it would easily last a lot longer then 4 days as you said 3-4 weeks.
The battery is about 4-5 months old.

yes its worth buying a multimeter, cheapy one costs less than $20 from super cheap. set it to Volts (V) and measure battery voltage when car is off. then read when starting the car, and if it drops to 11 or 10.5 Volts then its a good sign the battery is on its way out.

A 4 - 5 months old battery is still very new. I would say you either have a defective battery (look for warranty replacement) or some parasitic load in your car which drain the battery unkowningly.

Thanks for the advice, I will try and purchase one this weekend and check.
