Civic type r EP3 or Integra DC5R

I am just wondering which one would be better overall? I do like the look of EP3 but at the same time i reckon i DC5R looks more aggressive. Whats the main difference between them? They have the same engine so i am guessing there wont be much difference in power.

The EP3 is rare and i guess thats why i want to buy it. But i think getting parts such as bumpers, panels will be alot harder than a DC5R.

Also most DC5R have over 100km which kinda puts me off buying them

So what do u guys think? EP3R or DC5R?

I'm guessing you haven't got many replies because this is probably something you could have searched for.

anyway, i don't know much about either car, only what i've read about them, but as far as I can tell it seems the EP3 has one sweet FWD chassis, whereas the DC5R (especially AUDM) turned out being an underwhelming successor to the DC2.

it's simple - drive both and you'll know which one you like more. if looks are everything to you, base your choice on that. good luck

ive driven both and it depends on what you like.. but the ep3r is faster stock for stock
it all depends on how you like driving.. the dc5r is quite low and hard for the little asians :p and the ep3r is a standard hieght carand you do see less of the ep3r

I would have thought the DC5R would turn more heads. The EP3R just looks like another civic for those who dont know it. I havent seen a EP3R around sydney at all :(. Are u up the north shore?

The ep3r does get alot of looks and they always get mistaken for a jazz for the ppl that don't know what they are. But too the ppl that do know what they are they always coment on how nice it is. My choice was an ep3r but test drive both and make up your mind on what you feel is beat for you.

So why is it quicker than a DC5R stock? I believe the EP3R is a little bit heavier than the DC5R

DC5R - 1160Kg (without Air Conditioning - Optional)

I guess the DC5R will be closer to 1200kg since it has aircon in aus, but the EP3R is still heavier. So how come it is quicker?

The ep3r has a 158kw at the engine and the dc5r has 150 or so at the engine. Prob cause the ep3r is an import where as the dc5r is aus so it has been down tuned. In japan the dc5r is quicker then the ep3r. That little bit if extra weight the ep3r has isn't enough to affect it's performance

The JDM EP3 still weighs around the 1200kg mark anyway. Not sure what the DC5 weighs

those specs you have provided about the ep3r are incorrect. those specs are of the ukdm not jdm.

anyway, as i was at the light a european fellow, in the yellow subaru WRX. pulls up next to me, with his 130kgs or so GF, and the GF asked me if i was driving my GF's car.
i laughed and said yes, i was......... she had nothing to say.......... then she called me a pussy........ (ouch) and i just laughed at her without saying anything...
anyway
i shat on that guy once the light turned green.
and later on...... they were at the same lights without even looking at my direction.

This is what i get confused with. The JDM version comes with a british flag right? But most of the EP3R on carsales dont have a british flag, but they still have recaros, so did they just take it off the flag or is it a UKDM?

Yeh they would have taken the badge off. Mine was missing too.

A stock ep3 will still stand a chance. Until u drive one u don't understand how much potential these little civics have

Also depends on what clutch flywheel, and driver you are. Stock wrx is quite slow. Stock sti is about comparable with ep3.
But these turbo cars only need few mods and they can easily be alot faster..
Trust me. I have raced a stock evo x mr. And my car was a tad faster.. Raced a few done up evo 8 and 9 and our ep3s are just keeping up.

Nah actually i think Read the DC2r one, and got them confused for DC5r ones, either way.

is it better than a EP3R?
you still back seats with only 2doors Civic rear seating would be better than the Teggy.
you still get recaros.
weight is almost the same, engine (if imported) is the same.

so do you like boot space? and carry more ppl?

I prefer the Ep3R over the Dc5R. But for the extra money of the ep3r. get the dc5R and get a exhaust or somthing! Ep3R are a little over priced!

Also ive heard bad things when lowering EP3R.

Only the EP3 has this power.....local DC5R is "only" 200PS and not the same car as the JDM version :) Id get a EP3R over DC5R anyday (and did !)

A lot people prefer DC5 Due to looks and easy to sell in the future. But i rather choose one with JDM Spec not AUS or Euro
