What short shifters are there for the jazz? I've only seen the Mugen SS. Which type of shaft (single/dual bend) will suit my gd3?
Thanks
Andrew

i believe that Dual bend just means it sits forward and single means it sits back.
Dual bend loooks better in my opinion, its all same shit really.
As for what kind there are.. Skunk2 makes'm for the Jazz i got a skunk2 one for my integra and im lovin it havnt had a problem :)

Thanks for the info. When you say sits forward, do you mean it sits further away from the driver?
I've been to the Skunk2 website, and it shows both the dual and single bend shifter shaft. but it doesn't say what car it will fit.
Are all shifter shafts universal? it seems like it would be a very fiddly job to take out the current shaft and replace it.

Mugen is whole assembly, skunk2 is just the "stick". Harder to install but probably still doable.

According to the Skunk2 website, the skunk2 ss is just a few adaptors that raise the oem shifter box. it doesn't look like they sell a shorter shaft :(

The official Skunk2 site says its an adaptor http://www.skunk2.co.uk/product.php?id=4890

Short shifters suck! See if they make a Fast line shifter for your car. They are really good.

The Skunk2 SS is an adaptor since the Jazz uses a factory shifter box. There is no need to replace the factory box since it is already a great OEM piece. We sell and adapter and spacers to create a shorter throw with an OEM feel.

i thought the skunk2 adaptors rase the box and thus the shaft. is this correct as i have shortish arms and already find the oem shifter a bit of a stretch? :o
i've also read somewhere that short shifters could damage the syncros, however i doubt i'll be shifting that hard.
@skunk2tony
how much are the adaptor kits?

dual bend means it has 2 bends in the shifter, the upper bend is to make it sit forward away from the driver, this gives u .. easy shifting up n down apperantly, some cars the shifter sits a bit ON the dash, so if u get a single bend, it sits straight up and it would look and feel weird, but u get a dual bend and it will point up like its suppose to. Hard to explain over internet, u need to SEE with eyes. or i gota show u with my hands lol.
i only got skunk2 (i dont drive a jazz btw) on my teg cause i seen shifters brake, i seen the tips where the knob sits been shaved off.. i figured getting a brand would solve these problems, honestly.. the gear knob bit is still an issue, if u change gearknobs here n der u notice how it slowly decays the tread. but otherwise, u can just tell and feel that its better quality what can i say? lol
Its always better to go for rband name remmeber that.

Grab shaft as low as you can, then pull hard. What i do.
OK, that sounds a bit, (more then a bit?), wrong, but you get the idea :)
All things considered, you'll probly want to upgrade you're clutch before you do that. i can shift with the stock shifter quick enuf to feel the syncro's starting the catch. Might be the 170,000K clutch, might be the box needs more lub, (heheh), will work it out when i drop the box to do the clutch

thanks to everyone who replied.
i'm most likely going to get the mugen ss from JDMconcept (http://www.jdmconcept.com.au/) ($335 incl postage). just need to find time to install it.
should be more than enough diy's out there on installing it.
it wouldn't void any ADR requirements or anything would it? wanna keep my car as legal a possible...for now :P
thx again everyone :D
