Hey all,

this has just started in the last week.. From stand still to take off, depending how I take off, I hear a squeak. And before someone starts talking rubbish and says it's your Tyree it's not because I'm not talking about taking off hard like a launch...

I did have a look last night and there is grease around the right hand side drive shaft which didn't seem normal if I looked through from the top..

I'm either thinking this or a cv joint, but wouldn't the noise be while moving in the case of a driveshaft?

I do know my rear engine mount is weak, but I'm not sure

I do have a stage 4 comp clutch and toda fly, but it's just odd

I'm going overseas in a month so it's a bit hard... What to do?

I'll try and post a pic tonight but till then any help is good, but I know it's so hard to diagnose squeaks and noises that we all hear on the forum

hard to diagnose a squeak from takeoff, might even be your brake caliper heatshiels or the pad dragging on the disc...

i do know that having grease outside your CV boots is not good. You wan to get the boots repairs and check the CV to ensure it's still ok. Without the boot, grit gets in there and destroys the joint.

last week my car was squeaking on take off...so i took it to my trusty mechanics, ended up being a loose alternator belt
but mine did squeak on start up too

I have a ceramic clutch and get a squeak (which sounds just like a tyre squeal) on take off depending on how much slip I give the clutch before I let it grab, I also hear it on occasions in any gear change if I get sloppy and don't match revs closely enough. It's important to note that my clutch only began this after I'd worn it in over 20,000+ km

Most likely loose alternator/Fan belt...
Very big issue on my ford laser daily... on cold start up and take off for the first 10-15mins it'd squeak like a prick... after that was fine...
get it checked...

yeah, it doesnt sound like anything to do with the alternator.
its definitely something to do with some part of clutch or something.

i know its hard to diagnose a noise over the net. we come across noise issues every day .
