Hey guys, just bought a 2007 FD1 Vti after selling my DC5.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas why the car sounds noisy, almost like my windows aren't closed and I can hear the "road noise". All my windows are shut though.

Just some thoughts..i am thinking its it has 17" on them maybe its got something to do with the tyre/rims? and fingers-crossed its got nothing to do with the mounts..

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Yeh first thing to check with road noise is the tyre brand, quite a big difference in road noise with different tyres.

just bought the car so i havent scrutinised it yet. I know its 17" fox with 215/xx/17 falken tyres if im not wrong...

well if its just the tyres and not anything else sinister ....i think i can try to live with it till i get down to changing them to something else (i love my potenzas on my DC5)...

thanks guys!

yeah tell me about it i can hear my speakers from outside >.< and its not even up. I miss my eg cant even hear the base from out side with the speakers up, but yet again it was sprayed with some blue noise reduction from previous owner.

I had my FD completely "dynamated' and it made a big difference, the car is much quieter now.

http://www.fhrxstudios.com/ These guys are in Taren Point. All up it cost about $1500.00 to supply and fit dynamats to my FD. They did an excellent job, very professional and knowledgeable.

wow what? which area of the car did you get dynamat applied to?

i did my 2 front doors, rear parcel shelf and my boot myself

I suppose he did the whole floor, sides, roof? hahah $1500 seems too expensive but probably most of it comes from labour costs since the floor requires stripping to chasis.

$1500 vs. living with it or turning up the stereo volume...i think i will choose the latter.

but thanks for the info! I am sure others would be interested = )

Had road noise issues with my 06 Vti. Swapped the standard steel rims for alloy. Problem solved.

All 4 doors, entire floor, rear parcel self, boot lid, entire boot. Its pricey but worth it
