No reinforcement bars, and imported parts to source.
I've asked NRMA, they didn't even want to know about it.

the JDM Front doesnt have a reinforcement bar, only a radiator support and bumper support. Lol.
Maybe, you're gonna have to ask them, just give your insurance company a call during the week.

pretty sure u can't insure it as u cut and weld the main body of the car.

This is the JDM DC2 front bumper support bar

You might be able to weld something on, but as Mwaku said, chasis tampering isn't insurable.
But there is no chopping Mwaku, just spot welding, and drilling the spot weld of the AU front.

xntrik, thanks for being patient with me. i assume you have a jdm front yourself?
i can see what you mean now in a clear picture.
Just a few more Q's if you dont mind me asking:
- would insurance cover me if i installed an AUDM reinforcment the JDM rad support?
- Is the reinforcement welded or bolted to the rad support?
thanks man

I don't think the AUDM reinforcement can be used with a JDM front as it would get in the way, otherwise people would just keep them on and JDM-fronts would be insurable.

Yes you can get 3rd party.
You can probably get full comp, just expect to have a very confused person on the other line or they will mark up the premium.

Guys keep in mind, JDM Front conversion is like adding a body kit to your car
Except you have to spot weld the radiator support on, which is technically chassis tampering.
No insurance company will cover this, as far as I know.

thanks for everyones input
looks like JDM front isnt insurable at this point in time
does anyone know for sure if:
- AUDM reinforcement car can be fitted to JDM rad support?

see a specialist insurer such as Shannons (depending on your age and what you do with the car) or Just Car... expect a big bill
they are difficult to insure because insurance companies dont shop on Ozhonda... ie. the parts are difficult to come by

yes u can insure it and yes you can fit an aus spec dc2r reinforcement bar on with abit of custom work. look up on team-integra or hondatech for a diy. I got a quote for full comp for my JDM DC2R and it was like 1.4k with everything on it and that was justcars. And yes the guy knew what a JDM dc2r was. I am assuming that if you get into any sort of front end accident then your car is considered a write off.

so you have to tell them that you have a jdm front on it and they'll cover you just mark up the prices?

It will be considered a modification as mentioned above..
They will be charging you a higher premium because of this modification
Yes you will be covered so long as you advise them

also interested! any one from NSW that is currently insured/notified their insurance company of their jdm front ?
Lol g-stick sounds about right there, if you were to get into any accident, i would imagine the panel beaters would have a hell of a time trying to find a jdm front to replace it.
