Hey guys,

I bought a lip kit for my car (front lip, sides and rear) on eBay although it was located in Perth. Luckily my cousins live there and my cousin picked it up for me and currently has it at his place in Perth. Got it for ridiculously cheap, so figured I'd snap it up then work out how to get it here later on.

I'm going to be over there in about a month and figured I could take it back on the flight with me as it's only very light and I could probably pack it all up really tightly into a big ass box with heaps of bubble wrap to keep it secure and safe....thoughts on this?

OR

Do I just have it couriered from Perth to Melbourne? Will be quite pricey (estimate of about $400)

OR..

Any other ideas?

All help would be appreciated!

Thanks yo

RM.

there no way the airline is going to allow u to carry on the item... as its about 1meter+ long, u can put it into the luggage but only concern is that it may get broken with the way bag handlers works/under stacked bags...

but if u got the kit cheap and the courier is going to be $400... u might as well risk it

Can't be that expensive to get it couriered? I understand shipping from Perth costs alot more but I had a lip sent from Melb to Syd for around $30-40. Try some other couriers like TransDirect, e-Go, etc..

There is absolutely no way as mentioned above, you can take a lip kit onto the aeroplane especially if you got side-skirts.
Look into getting couriered get a quote,

wrap all 3 together, measure it and weigh it then call up a few couriers and get some quotes.

rather than guessing its $400.

Would be a bit more, cause isn't Perth further from Melbourne, then Melbourne to Sydney

Yeah but if you pack all 3 items, as one (wrap it)

its 1 Item, still the same weight as the 3, less cubic space = cheaper.

Got my cousin to lay it on the floor and measure how big a box would go around it...approxamiately 2.5m L by 2m W and weighs in at less than 5kg as its fiberglass.

Put those specs into a calculator on TransDirect and got a quote of $251 from Perth to Melbourne with exact post codes.

Once I'm over there I'll spend time wrapping it all up with bubble wrap, as well as cushioning the space in between the different parts in the big box then weigh it and confirm. but from what I can see from the quote it shouldn't exceed $400..

thoughts?
