I am getting a new Euro to replace my much loved Jetta

Hi all,

I bought myself a MY2011 Honda Accord Euro,standard ,with automatic transmission,in Buran Silver last Monday.
Only options were the custom mats and 2 Silver Honda keyrings.

I am hoping to take delivery from Astoria Honda on 24th May,as the car only arrives in Melbourne on the 17th,as it will be fresh off the boat from Japan.

My MY2007 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0 FSI was written off due to the hail storm 2 weeks ago,and I was devestated,as was not planning to change,as the car was great,and I just bought the 3 year extended warranty...

I looked at every option on the market,and deceided that the Euro was the best car available,so am getting very excited for my delivery.

I am sure I will love it.

It is my 7th new car,but my first Honda,and my first Japaneese car....

Will keep everyone updated on my forst impressions.

Congratulations on the new Euro! How do you get a 2011 model? Is that just what its called? Anyways, throw up some pics when you get it. Whereabouts was the hailstorm in Melb that ruined the Jetta? Congrats again.

When I placed my order,the salesperson allocated a car to me ,and on his computer could see that it was a 2011 model,which is identical to the 2010 model....

The hailstorm was the notorious one on the 6th of March,which swept the city.

If the 2011 and 2010 are the same, then there is literally no difference with a "2011" model. When you take delivery? If it is this year, then you'll get a 2010 built car anyway, which is what matters.

I am getting my new Euro next Monday,the 24th of May...
YAY.So obviously its a 2010 built car.
When I bought my previous car,a VW Jetta,it was built in late August 2006,I got it on 30 October 2006,but it was a 2007 spec ...
When insurance were paying me out for it,I got a few hundred dollars more,because of this.

So it looks like I win again...

Welcome to Hondas Antony.
You will not be dissapointed. The new Accord Euros are very nice car indeed. Sits low and looks wide straight from factory.
In the US they are branded as Acura which is the Honda luxury brand there.

I started off with a few Hondas.
I now own an A6 and recently bought a used Euro Lux, just to satistfy my urge to drive a Honda.
I am also quite hands on so have learnt a lot between Japanses and German cars.

The Honda guys here are very friendly and everyone is always willing to help. :)

I deceided that after a European Ford,Holden,and 4 Volkswagens,I would go Japaneese.

However,I found the Toyota Corollas,Camrys,and Aurions very bland...Subarus are IMHO butt ugly...lol,Nissan are recreation focused,Mazda 3 and 6 I found to be plasticky,Mitsubishi have a limited range on offer,and the new Suzuki Kizashi is a completely unknown entity,so going over to Honda was a no brainer...

The Euro is an awesome car in every respect,from the looks,to the interior,engine,drive,etc,etc,etc.

I am very excited,and am counting my sleeps to delivery...6 more...before arriving at Astoria Honda.

Was very involved in VWwatercooled,so am sure I will become just as big a Honda fan,and will be very active here.

I know that the Euro is called the Acura TSX in America,Canada,and Mexico,and was recently launched in China with a diffirent name too.

I spent the afternoon taking delivery,but have not been able to drive much,as its been raining and miserable the whole afternoon...

Will make up for it in the next few days though...
